Classes

Samskrita Bharati Maryland offers year-long Sanskrit classes for adults and children, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Beginner classes emphasize listening and speaking, and no prior knowledge of Samskrit, Devanāgarī, or any Indian language is required. As students progress, reading and writing in Devanāgarī become an important part of the program.

Classes are taught by Samskrita Bharati-trained teachers using an interactive, immersive approach, with Samskrit used as the primary language of instruction. Children learn through a structured program that combines conversation, reading, writing, games, songs, and activities.

We also offer a separate Devanāgarī script class, and families are encouraged to learn together. Classes are currently offered in Clarksburg, Rockville, and Ellicott City.
